A bit of preventative maintenance and tuckpointing can make such a difference to both the longevity, and look of your home.  These arches are common throughout Melbourne and, over time, can develop small cracks and damage. In this case, the original tuckpointing had weathered badly, and minor cracking and separation had formed in the brickwork and render.

To help arrest further movement, we installed Helifix stitch ties to tie the brickwork back together. The arch was then raked, cleaned and tuckpointed to match the original, restoring the crisp lines and contrast that give these arches their character.
